Managing Atopic Dermatitis in the US
Treatment options for atopic dermatitis (AD) are increasing, with the development of novel anti-inflammatory therapies which may optimize care for patients with AD. This according to a study that describes the impact and challenge of managing AD and adult patients in the US. Among the findings:
- Current AD management guidelines address the distinct clinical phenotypes as a single disease and do not incorporate recent clinical advances, such as the targeting of specific inflammatory processes.
- Treatment guidelines for AD are somewhat complex and may challenge health care providers, patients, and caregivers.
- Novel treatments may provide additional therapeutic options for patients with AD.
