The American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists (AACP) was founded in 1975 by George Winokur, MD, and others who shared the belief that a wealth of clinically relevant data can be found in every psychiatrist’s clinical experience. The organization provides a forum to share information for psychiatrists engaged in direct patient care, and to keep abreast of the latest scientific developments relevant to the practice of psychiatry. Annals of Clinical Psychiatry, the official journal of the AACP, publishes high-quality clinical articles that focus on the advancement of patient care. http://www.aacp.com
The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) was founded on March 24, 1998 when the network of pharmacists formerly known as the Conference of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists became a professional society. The formation of CPNP was the culmination of efforts of many pharmacists practicing in the psychiatry and neurology specialties over the past 30 years. CPNP has continued to evolve and grow and has increased membership to over 2,100 individuals. Our mission is to advance the reach and practice of psychiatric pharmacy and serve as the voice of the specialty. http://www.cpnp.org
